HAPPINESS IS AS EASY AS 1,2,3,4
As moms, you're always putting your child or children first before yourself. Don't forget about your partner, too. Barbara Gibson-Paul, child and family therapist, shares a few tips on happiness. If you're happy, the tone of the household and your daily functions at home and/or at work will be more positive.
- Wake up 10 minutes earlier than everyone in your family. Write down your goals for the day, enjoy your cup of tea/coffee and take a longer shower.
- Pick a charity or do volunteer work that gives you something to talk about with your husband and friends. This models the importance of community to your children.
- Laughter, laughter and more laughter. When something stressful happens ask yourself "will I remember this in 1 year?" Most of the time you won't remember.
- Acknowledge those people around you, smile, give hugs, be grateful and review your day. Keeping things simple can lead to less stress and chaos, and increase creativity and joy.
